Application process

Thank you for your interest in joining our Schutz American School Family,  an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational day school which offers a challenging American-based educational program from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. We understand how important it is to feel comfortable and confident as you choose a school for your family, and we want to make this journey as smooth as possible for you.

We encourage all families to contact our Admissions Office to learn more about joining the Schutz Family. Personalized tours are available throughout the year with the Admissions Office and families are also welcome at special admissions events with our educators.

The administration will determine grade level placement based on previous school attendance, ability, and age of the student.

We look forward to welcoming you to our prestigious Schutz Family. We want the application process to be as easy as possible; please find below our checklist: 

Applying to Schutz American School:

  1. Submit all application requirements by email or in person.
  2. Visit SAS for student assessment and parent interview.
    1. Prekindergarten and kindergarten applicants meet with an SAS educator.
    2. Grade 1-12 applicants sit the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment in math and reading.
    3. Parents meet with the divisional principal.
  3. Admissions Team reviews application and assessment results. Further information is requested as needed.
  4. Admissions Coordinator notifies family of admissions decision. If accepted, family receives an offer of acceptance.
  5. Family accepts the Enrollment acceptance or declines in writing by email to the Admission Coordinator. To secure the space, the registration fee must be paid within one month of acceptance. If the registration fee is not received by the deadline, the acceptance will be rescinded.
  6. Further information is shared by the Admissions Office regarding orientation and the start of school and by the Finance Office regarding tuition and fees.
