Opened in 2000, Walters Hall is a modern, well-maintained facility that offers a variety of educational experiences and opportunities for Schutz's youngest students.
Walters Hall Rules
- Be respectful to your teachers and other students.
- Speak English all the time.
- Respect school property.
- Always walk quietly in the hallways.
- Use your indoor voices when in the building.
- Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
- Be kind to other students.
- Bring the things you need with you. Be responsible.
The rules for Walters Hall are posted on each floor of the building and are reviewed with the students at the beginning of each school year and, as necessary, during the year. The elementary students have even learned a "Walters Hall Rules" song to help them remember these rules. The rules are intended to provide a common expectation for courtesy, respect, and scholarship from all students so that Walters Hall will have the type of environment that promotes student learning and allows all students a safe and positive school experience.
In Lower School, language based work forms the core of the curriculum with a heavy emphasis on reading and writing. Social studies, science, and health are integrated and enriched by language arts activities.
Computers are integrated into the curriculum wherever possible. Depending upon the progress of the students, teachers adjust and modify their programs to accommodate various learning styles.
