Educational Technology

Schutz American School is working hard to bring world class digital literacy skills to our students. The Schutz family is committed to this and as such we've made significant investments setting the stage for improvement.

2014-15 brought significant investments into the stabilization of the school's infrastructure with a quadrupling of internet connection speed, an enterprise quality Ruckus Wireless infrastructure, and a move to the Google Apps for Education (GAFE) platform.

2015-16 will again mark a significant year for Schutz in that we will be launching our 1:1 computing program in the Middle School with a school supplied Chromebook for every student.

2016-17 will bring the launch of the 1:1 program in the High School, followed by the Elementary School in 2017-18.

Schutz American School is the first school in Egypt to use Chromebooks in a 1:1 environment.

Schutz maintains a PC lab in both the Elementary School and in the High School. Both libraries also have PCs available for student use. Students grades K-5 attend weekly computer classes and the High School offers an Information Technology class that covers web design and coding.
